RPG on WhatsApp: tabletop dice and an economy that hooks the group
RPG on WhatsApp works two ways: rolling dice for your tabletop game and living the social economy of Becca. Learn to use both without flooding the group chat.
RPG on WhatsApp can mean two very different things: playing a tabletop RPG through the chat, or turning the group into a social game with money, jobs, marriage and factions. Becca helps in both cases.
This guide covers both audiences. If you only want to roll dice at your table, the first part is enough. If you want an RPG that keeps the group active every day, read to the end, especially the part about introducing it little by little.
Dice for your RPG table
A table without physical dice stalls or turns into blind trust in the game master. The !dado command fixes that: !dado d20 rolls a 20-sided die and !dado 2d6+3 rolls two 6-sided dice and adds 3. The result appears in the chat with the detail of each die and the total, so everyone sees the roll right away. No more "roll again", and no more doubt about someone rolling out of sight.
Organize the session without losing anything
A tabletop game over WhatsApp lives on organization. The native way: pin a message with the session time and rules (tap and hold the message and choose Pin) and use the poll in the attachment clip to find the day that works for everyone.
With Becca, !anotar stores in the group what the table checks all the time, as in !anotar Table rules | Rolls always public, session on Wednesdays, 9 PM. The same goes for each character sheet. The !notas command lists what was saved and, with !nota, the admin picks a note and Becca posts it in the group. All three are admin commands, so the game master needs to be a group admin. A fixed schedule does the rest: a table that always meets at the same time survives a busy calendar, and !hidetag (also admin only) at the start of the evening calls everyone without cluttering the chat.
The other RPG: Becca's economy
If your table meets once in a while, Becca's economy is the RPG that runs every day. An admin turns on !modoec and each member creates an account with !abrirc. The !conta command shows your situation. From there, each person builds their own story inside the group: earns money, studies, buys things, takes risks and makes allies. Joining is optional: whoever does not want to play simply does not open an account.
Money, study and assets
- Earning money: !daily for the daily bonus, !empregos to pick a job, !trabalhar to collect the salary, plus !minerar and !plantar (see the items below)
- Progress: !estudar gives intellect (and can be used once an hour), !matricular enrolls you in school, public or private, and !faculdade starts the degree and finishes it. Some jobs require that study
- Investing: !investir accepts cdb, acao and fundo followed by an amount (as in !investir cdb 100), !resgatar takes the money back and !carteira shows what you have invested
- Assets: !comprarimovel, !imoveis and !coletarrenda, because property generates income
- Items: !loja sells pickaxes, weapons, seeds and hoes, !itens shows your inventory and !equipar puts an item to use. !minerar requires an equipped pickaxe, and !plantar requires an equipped hoe and seed (!colher gathers what has grown)
Risk, social life and rankings
This is where the stories appear, because each player chooses how much to risk:
- Risk: !apostar and !cassino put money on the line, and !assaltar tries to take money from another player (it requires an equipped weapon, and failing costs you money)
- Law: !prender and !revistar only work for whoever has the police job
- Social life: !casar, !adotar and !familia build a family, and !faccao organizes teams (create, join, leave, donate and more)
- Rankings: !top shows the richest in the group, !topglobal looks beyond the group and !topfaccao ranks the factions
A ranking is fuel, but it also discourages whoever is always behind. That is why it is worth highlighting factions and stories, not only the top: the most unlikely marriage, the boldest robbery.
How to introduce it without flooding the chat
An economy released all at once fills the group with commands and bot replies, and people who do not play get annoyed. Release it in stages. With !blockcmd you block a command for members, one at a time, and with !unblockcmd you release it when the time comes. A suggested schedule:
- Week 1: !abrirc, !conta and !daily, the basics so everyone gets in the mood
- Week 2: !empregos, !trabalhar and !estudar
- Week 3: !investir, !comprarimovel and !top
- Later: !cassino, !assaltar, !casar and !faccao, once everyone has the basics down
Also agree on a time for the fun: people who play concentrate their commands in two or three moments of the day, and the group keeps serving those who only want to chat.
Tip: Announce each stage with a pinned message that describes only the new commands. Whoever joins later reads everything in one place, without asking in the group.
Next step
If your table runs on dice, start today: pin the schedule, test !dado d20 and keep the rules in !anotar. If you want the economy, add Becca: R$ 15 per group per month, no lock-in, paid by Pix or card. Turn on !modoec, start at stage 1 and leave the rest for when the group asks.
